Best and worst weekend getaways

I remember my worst weekend getaway was when my hubby and I lived in Sacramento, CA. for the summer.  We decided to take a weekend trip to Monterey...and when we finally decided to stop driving, we picked THE worst hole-in-the-wall to sleep at.  The first room we tried was smelly and dirty and the bedspread made my skin crawl.  We went to the front desk after a short while and they told us we couldn't get our money back, but they would put us in another room.  It was a handicapped equipped room with NO toiletries, but at least it was a little cleaner than the first room.  I have never slept so little, or felt so gross in my life! Now, our BEST weekend getaway was definately our 4-day trip to Hawaii on the company's dime!  We had accomplished our $2M dollar goal for that fiscal year and we were SO excited to get outta town!  It was fantastic!  We took pictures of everything from the Cultural Center where they do the Fire Show at night, The Hawaiian LDS Temple, The Lu'au and everything in between.  We took a helicoptor ride and took pictures of the Big Island from the air. We shopped at the local market and bought a pearl with a natural smiley face birth mark on it.  The man at the stand said it was a sign of tremendous good fortune! We took a sail on a catamuran off the Waikiki coast and saw dolphins and sea turtles....and I was pregnant, so I threw up a lot....then we ate at a rotating restaurant overlooking Waikiki beach and our hotel, The Royal Hawaiian.  We tried to get out to see the remains of the Arizona and pay homage to Pearl Harbor, but we got there just as the last train was leaving...it was very sad for Shane, my husband, since his grandfather served in that war and lived to tell about it!

Things you should do in my city

When you visit my city, you should definately visit the Ogden Eccles Dinosaur Park, Doug's Spaghetti House, pretty much anything on Historic 25th Street including the Union Pacific Bldg., and in the Winter, The ICE sheet at Weber State University campus.

I collect Shot Glasses from each place I visit for vacation or business. That way I get to look at them and remember everywhere I've had the privelege of going in the world!

My latest accomplishment in my hobby

I just auditioned for the Weber County Fair Idol Competition on June 11, 2007 and it was great! I was hardly even nervous because I did it last year and it was so much FUN!!
