Although I attended my last 1 1/2 years of high school overseas and graduated there, I still feel a strong connection to the O.F.A.
I have been back a few times, but was only able to attend 2 c/o 1975 reunions - the 10th with Terry Coleman, and the 14th by myself (not much fun). I was there in July of 2005 with my two sons, and when I walked into the lobby (courtesy of the current principal) I burst into tears, because it looked EXACTLY the same to me!!!
My sons and I currently live in the beautiful town of Aiken, South Carolina. I just completed (gulp) my 27th year teaching in special education, but have to hang in there for 8 more years at least to get my sons through college!
My family just gathered this summer in Burlington, Vermont, to celebrate my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary, and we followed the stories of the terrible flooding in the area. I hope that none of my classmates sustained serious damage to their properties or had personal injuries; know that our thoughts are with you as you recover.
The oldest of my 3 younger sisters, Regan, has made it to at least one O.F.A. reunion (c/o 1977) with her husband, Frank. My middle sister, Brenna, as part of her tour of upstate New York with her family this summer, was heartbroken at being turned away from entering Owego due to the flooding. My youngest sister Denise is actually attending the O.F.A. c/o of 1981 reunion this weekend.
My friend Beverly Brown has also been keeping me posted about our old house, the green and white house next door to the Elk's Club. I hope to reconnect with more of the c/o 1975 soon!
