The gift of Life.

Ive been away from home for the past few weeks. My husband has just been given the gift of life ( kidney transplant). Everything has been going perfectly for him. We miss our children terribly, however they know we will be home as soon as we can.

My family relationships as an adult

closer to them as an adult. I think we understand eachother more. When my mom says shes tired, I totally understand why, lol. Mostly I understand why some parents just say "No" and dont want to give any reasons.  I used to beg nonstop for sleepovers, now as a parent.. i dread them.

Summer Time

Just finished taking a summer class at BC, been trying to relax since. Still waiting for that call to Portland.  Our baby cat was attacked in the front yard by someones family pets ( two fullsize black labs, unleashed, untagged) Oh the fun. My kids loved the sight of that... My son starts football this month. Since the SW team was full we placed him on the Central team. Will be nice to be back on the BHS field watching football again.

First time I ditched class

I am not sure if I recall the "first Time" but I think my only reason was simply because I was able to do it and my friends were so I went, lol, sad yes, I was very much the follower for a while. Think that was during my freshman year... no one really seemed to care back then. I wasnt out causing problems for anyone, in fact I think we pretty much went to grab something to eat or someones house to just relax for a bit.  Terrible habit! I hope my children never do those things...

What's the longest plane ride you've ever taken? Was is difficult, or easy?

2 hours! and I had to drug myself ( thanks dr tracy!) to get thru it... I dont do so well with heights, lol.  I am not sure why, but it seems every flight we had to take this week we always got stuck with screaming children right next to us. I love children i really do, but when im already tense.. they quickly make me turn evil. The last flight wasnt totally terrible, just seemed really long...

The One Sound I Hate

The sound of someone trying to hack up mucas...totally grosses me out, almost as much as hearing them spit. The smell of saliva turns me off. If anyone spits, drools, licks anything I can not go behind them if it smells. Had a really hard time doing tequila shots, having to lick my own hand was gross enough.

Fave Childhood TV Show

We watched a ton of TV as a family. I think the one show that I actually felt my day wasnt complete unless I got to watch it was probably Full House. Sad but that show still runs today and I still find myself getting caught up in the show. My kids enjoy it and I enjoy watching them watching it. Great family show. Who doesnt like to see a bunch of men raising children in a small house with pets...

What do you think you will be doing 10 years from now?

Getting to know my husband all over again. Hopefully doing a little traveling, trying things that I was afraid to try before. Going places that I have only thought about. Just mainly making new memories and having new experiences. My children will be grown up and out of my house by then and hopefully making lives of their own. My husband and I just pretty much want to get out of dodge...live a little.

Pet ownership which is better? Dog or Cat?

Cats are easier to take care of...although I enjoy the dog more. Maybe its just the cats that ive had exposure to in my lifetime, but all of them have been moody, lazy, and housecats.  I like taking a dog for a walk. Yes i know some people take cats on a walk, but thats just plain silly, lol.  Puppies are great too, but I prefer them full grown and trained. Once you have reached that point, it is almost like being married or having another child in the house.

After high school

I continued to work, moved out after I turned 18 years old. Got married to my high school sweetheart, Everrett. Had three children waited until the youngest was in school full time before sending myself to college.

How do you spend your Sundays?

usually sleep in if I can. Do whatever homework I have left to complete, have lunch with the family. Run any errands we can get overwith before the week starts. answer emails I avoided over the week. Clean house. Catch up on the little things.Try to stay home...

Have you ever broken a bone? How did you do it?

no broken bones, but i did manage to sprain both ankles, lol. Once was just a stupid error on my behalf. I was doing something for my husband and didnt want to wake him up, he had just gotten home from his 12 hour night shift, I ran thru the bedroom hopped over the side of the bed and landed on his steeltoe boot.. my ankle cracked and i yelled bloody murder. The other ankle i slipped down our steep driveway in Oregon after a good night of snow had fallen. Slipped twisted it just right on my way to take the kids to school, dropped them all off at school then drove myself to the Urgent care, heh. But ive never broken any bones, just hurt myself good.

My kids' personalities

all my children are a little bit like me..my son only acts like me when hes afraid to try something new thats physically challenging. ( the good ol asthma excuse!) He is like my husband almost to a T. They have the same interest and hobbies. He talks to both of us openly about his concerns.my middle daughter she mimics the way I talk and move..my husband says she laughs like I do. She is very hard headed like her father..but they have a solid relationship. She would rather talk to him than me with her issues. My youngest daughter she is a lot like me, she acts like my day planner when we are out and about. reminds me of everything i tend to forget. She is very smart like her father and very into sports. They have a lot in common. She would just rather talk to me than him with private troubles.

What's the longest plane ride you've ever taken? Was is difficult, or easy?

I dont like planes... never have. My longest ride was actually not very long at all it was just that I was 6months along and had my 1year old son in my lap who insisted on having the side window open.. while flying home to see my parents. was only about 45mins in the air.. but seemed like forever!

What I want my kids to be when they grow up

my husband and I talk about this one often. Our son isnt a physical child, he likes sports but hes not one to become the captain of the football team. I think after he graduates highschool he will more than likely join either the Air Force or Navy and make a career out of them. My second child does not like to be told what to do or how.. I think after she graduates highschool, AND SHE WILL!, she will probably get a simple job to help her get thru some college before making her run for a solid career. My youngest daughter loves school and everything about learning, she talks constantly about becoming a doctor, astronaut, scientist and a mommy. She will probably join the Navy get what she can from that, then go to college to further herself  and get solid with a profession before starting a family of her own. ( she claims she is never moving out of the house..)

My birthday wishlist

Its funny you should ask, I can never seem to answer this question. I dont really want anything for my birthday, I am just happy to be able to enjoy it. Material possession have never been for me. My husband and children are all I could ever wish for. What more could one want?

My Parent's Marriage

My parents are still married. They are going on almost 40 years strong. I am sure they have had their rough times as well as the great times. I admire them for all of it.

The Last Book I Read

Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser.... thanks Professor Pinza! We dont eat much fast food these days, but this book has definately opened my eyes. After having worked with various fast food chains before I had children I cant see myself taking them to eat there...ever,lol. Ill always be a Subway fan though.

Who was the most famous person you've ever met?

Kenny Rogers, was a million years ago, but when Hands Across America came thru Taft California my parents took us to take part. My father made it a point to try to introduce us to every star we could see. I remember Kenny Rogers the best, he had his son with him, who was about 4 years old. My dad and he talked for what seemed like forever, then he shook our hands and we moved on. was an awesome day.

What's your favorite candy bar? Why?

Snickers Bar is the absolute best chocolate bar I have ever tasted. I love caramel, peanuts, and chocolate. However I can no longer enjoy them, but I am very glad I got the chance to enjoy them while I did. After My braces are removed I plan to have a snicker bar party...
