You can't imagine the shock until you have been through the situation of your young daughter (too young to be a mother) comes to tell you that she is going to have a baby.....Let me share with you... At 16, my young daughter (no. 3 in the line of 4), who had been going through the strong willed teenage syndrone (the kind that makes parents crazy). I had done everything that I could to keep this young girl away from her idiot 21 year old (going on 2) boyfriend, almost to the point of chaining her to her bed (should have). I had finally had it and called her father to come and pick her up. He drove from TX to GA (where I was living at the time) to pick her up, and lo and behold, she announces that she is going to have a baby, and she is having it no matter what. Well, let me tell you that I could have been knocked over with a feather. I was in shock. So bad in shock that I immediately kicked her out and told her "crappy" other to pick her up and he could deal with it. He is, however, 21 years old and supposed to be a man. Three months later, August 25, 2002. me, my youngest daughter, my dog, my truck and a U-haul trailer moved to VA. I had had it with GA and was getting out. In December, 2002, Summer, my youngest, came to me and said that Brittney had asked her if she thought that I might be there when the baby was born. Summer approached me and told me that Brittney was missing me and really wanted me to be there with her when she went to the hospital. By this time, I realized that no matter what, my child is my child and I loved her unconditionally. I was there at the hospital, in the room, and helped deliver my beautiful granddaughter, Emily Noelle. I can not tell you the feeling when you are experiencing the birth of your own grandchild. I would not change things for anything in the world, and Emily is the most precious gift (besides my daughters) that I have ever received. She is the joy of my life and will always be precious to me. Since that time, my daughter left the idiot (they never got married), moved in with me (I loved having Emily with me everyday and watching her grow), met the most wonderful man, Joshua, between tours in the Army. They fell in love, married, and Emily now has a wonderful "daddy" and a wonderful new brother, and another brother on the way in January, 2008. Oh, the joy of being a grandparent. I love every minute.
