Aug 20, 2000: About My Personal Life; After taking the normal 5 years to get through A&M (especially when you change your major), I went to work for the State Banking Department. I traveled Central and South Texas for 6 years and saw places I never knew existed. However, 3 good things came out of my travels as I met my wife, Pam, while examining a state bank in Killeen and now we have been married for 7 years and have two wonderful (but tiring) boys - Michael(12/96) and Brian (12/99). After leaving the Department of Banking I worked in downtown Austin for 2 years and then we moved to Victoria where I worked for VB&T for 2 years until they were purchased by Norwest Bank. An opportunity opened for us to move back to Round Rock and work in Austin. That lasted all of about 10 months when I realized that banking just was not fun anymore and I got a job with Dell Financial Services in Round Rock. It is great as I only live 5 minutes from work and do not have to fight with that wonderful IH 35 traffic. I cover the Northeast and have had an opportunity to visit Boston and New York. Hope to see everyone at the 20 year reunion next year (that is if we are still having one?).
